Step 1
The first step of the drawing is to draw a line from the head to the feet of the Grinch. This will ensure that you get the entire drawing on the surface of the paper. Next, draw a line for the shoulders and a line for the waist.
Step 2
Next, you can draw a few circles for the structure of the Grinch. Draw an oval shape for the head, a small circle for the upper body, and a large circle for the bottom portion of the body. You can also draw some lines for the arms. I like to draw little circles for where the joints are.
Step 3
Next, draw what looks like a split heart for the basic shape of the Grinch’s face. You can also draw the hands like they are drawn in the picture. Draw a leaning triangle on top of the head. This triangle will eventually be the hat that the Grinch is wearing. You can also draw the stick figure for the legs and feet.
Step 4
At this stage in the drawing, we will begin to add some details to our drawing of the Grinch. You can go ahead and thicken up the stick figure structure and put some clothes on that Grinch. Add a poofy look to the edges of the outfit. Go ahead and draw the eyes, eyebrows, and the mouth. Be sure to leave a couple of little white dots in each eye. Thicken up the stick figure structure that you drew for the legs as well. Be sure to make the legs look furry.
Step 5
Now, all that’s left to add to your drawing of the Grinch is to add a few more details to the face. Draw a nose and a couple of extra lines above the eyebrows. Bring a line down from the nose and connect it to the mouth. You can go over all of your lines with ink or a marker to finish your drawing. “You’re a mean (drawing), Mr. Grinch…”
