The Peanuts cartoon strip is one of the classic cartoon strips of America. It’s no wonder that Snoopy the dog has become an icon. Because of this, Snoopy has become a very popular subject to draw. Fortunately, Snoopy is easy to draw with simple shapes.
Let’s take a look at how to draw Snoopy.
Step 1
Begin your drawing of Snoopy by drawing a slightly curved line. Then draw three ovals. One oval will need to be much like a circle. The curved line that you drew first should intersect right down the middle of this circle. This shape will represent the back half of Snoopy’s head. Draw another oval that overlaps the circle that you just drew. Then add an oval at the bottom of the slightly curved line that you drew originally.
Step 2
Next, draw shapes for the ears. These will consist of overlapping ovals like the one’s in the picture. Draw a line right across the middle of Snoopy’s body and draw two circles on the ends of that line. Go ahead and draw two lines for the legs and a couple of ovals for the feet.
Step 3
Now you can draw the paws (hands) of Snoopy. These are really easy because you’ll be using the circles as a guide. You can add some lines to form out the body as well. Draw a shape for the tail and thicken up the legs.
Step 4
Now add some of the facial features. Draw a simple oval for the nose, and lines for the eyes and mouth. Don’t forget to add the eyebrows. Draw a line for the collar as well.
Step 5
Now all that’s left is to go over your lines with ink. This can be done with a marker or pen. When the ink dries, you can go back and erase the pencils lines that you used. And that is how you draw Snoopy, step by step.
