Pokemon has become a world wide phenomenon. From the card game to the television show, you’d have to be living under a rock not to have heard about Pokemon. This tutorial will take a look at how to draw Pokemon’s most famous character, Pikachu.
Let’s get ready to draw Pikachu.
Step 1
Begin the drawing of Pikachu by drawing two overlapping shapes. The top shape will be a simple circle and the lower shape will be like a circle, just with a flattened bottom.
Step 2
Now, draw two ears. Also draw a couple of shapes for the arms and a couple of circles to get the leg shapes going.
Step 3
In this step of the drawing, we’ll take some of the shapes that we’ve already drawn and make them a little more Pikachu-like. Starting with the original circle, define the face of Pikachu by drawing how the face will expand at the cheeks. Add some fingers to the hands. Also, draw the feet right off the end of the circles that you drew in the last step. Add what you can see of the tail behind the head and add some lines for the tips of the ears.
Step 4
In this step, we’ll continue to add some of the details to Pikachu. Draw a couple of lines for the eyes, a small line for the nose, and a couple of circles for the rosy cheeks. In this pose, Pikachu’s mouth is open. So draw the lines for the mouth in this step. Add the toes with some simple lines, and draw a line for the bottom of the chin.
Step 5
Now you have enough information drawn on your paper to finish your drawing of Pikachu. Just go over your lines, perhaps with an ink pen. When the ink is dry, you can erase any pencil lines that may be left. Be sure to darken in the tips of the ears and the inside of the mouth. See how easy it is to draw Pokemon character, Pikachu?
