Feet can drive some people crazy. And I don’t just mean because they have a tendency to really stink. Feet are similar to hands when it comes to drawing. People are just so afraid of them. Often times, people will do whatever they can to hide the feet in a drawing. But feet aren’t hard to draw! In fact, they are pretty easy to draw when you break them down into easy to draw shapes. That’s exactly what we’ll do in this step by step drawing tutorial. Don’t forget, if you’re looking to learn how to draw people, be sure to check out the how to draw people page.
Step 1
Let’s get started drawing feet by thinking about the form of a foot. Think of a wedge when you think of a foot. So, we’ll start out by drawing a wedge. Simply put a few shapes together to create a wedge shape.
Step 2
Next, we’ll draw the shape for the second foot. Since this foot is pointed toward the viewer, the shapes that we’ll draw for it are simple shapes instead of forms. Continue the first form on the other foot, by extending the wedge out with a curve.
Step 3
Next, add a couple of lines for the legs and add a line for the heel.
Step 4
Now you can define where the toes will be inside of the foot shapes that you have already drawn.
Step 5
Now just use the lines that you have drawn as a guide to finish your drawing of feet. Add some details like the toe nails and wrinkles in the toes. Be sure to vary the line width so that your drawing has a bit of depth. So, there’s no need to fear feet. Now you can draw them.
