How to Draw a Rocket Ship Step by Step


In this step by step drawing demonstration, you will learn how to draw a rocketship.  Rocketships remind us all of the adventure in exploration.  I remember buiding rocketships out of cardboard boxes when I was younger.  I always dreamed of being an astronaunt and exploring space.  We can’t all explore space, but we can all draw a rocketship. 

We’ll just draw the simple, easy to draw shapes that make up the rocketship, one step at a time. So, let’s get started drawing a rocket ship.

Here’s how to draw a rocket ship, step by step…

Step 1
Begin the drawing of the rocketship by drawing two overlapping ovals.  Be sure that when you draw the ovals that they overlap to create a buldge.  This connection will represent the fattest part of the rocketship.  The two ovals together will represent the length of the rocketship.

Step 2
Now, you can draw some lines to indicate the bottom part of the rocketship.  These shapes will hold the rocket engine that the flames will shoot from.  You can make just a few of these shapes, or you can make lots.  It’s up to you.  You also can draw the bottom of the rocket engine extending down form these shapes.

Step 3
In this step, you should finish off the shapes around the rocket engine.  You can also add details to indicate the top capsule of the rocketship.  The window of the rocketship can be drawn with just a couple of simple circles.  You can also add lines to indicate the flames shooting from the engine.

Step 4
Now, you have enough information to finish the drawing.  Make some of your lines thick and leave some of your lines thin so that you have some variety in your drawing.  Now your drawing is ready to blast off to find some alien life in the galaxy.
